Do unto others before they do unto you...

Are you still with me? I can imagine that you're probably thinking that I meant that we have to beat others to the punch before they do us wrong. What I really mean here is that it should be our goal to be a blessing to others before they are a blessing to us. Wouldn't it be great to find yourself in a position of blessing others as a way of life?

Something that struck me very strongly in the scripture is that we are instructed to "do unto others as we would have them do unto us." When you think about our world today, rarely do people think of doing unto others in a manner in which they would want others to do unto them. What I mean here is being purposeful in our actions towards others.

Ask yourself this question. How often do you purposefully start your day with the intention of looking for someone to bless during your day? I want to challenge you to make it a habit to start looking to be a blessing to somebody everyday. I guarantee you that you'll get so much out of it that you'll want to do it more and more.

"One of the main keys to our daily living is sharing the life of Jesus with those He brings across our path." Can you imagine the testimonies we would share every Sunday and during the week if our entire congregation was purposefully looking to bless somebody different everyday? It would be awesome. This doesn't have to be a pipe dream. This can be a reality. The question is are you willing to look to be a blessing to others? I hope you are because I am overjoyed with what the Lord has put in my heart about touching the lives of others in the business community of Chino. All I continually imagine is people waiting for me to show up at their business. I have nothing to sell. All I have is the love of God to give them no matter what state they may find themselves in.

Can you get excited with me and believe God will bring the right people across the paths of the members and friends of CentrePoint? I believe incredible things will happen. As an example, the young man I met on the internet who showed up to church on Sunday June 24th. Wasn't it great to have somebody drive from Hemet, CA to come to church? What was even greater was to see his lady friend accept Jesus into her life.

Let's get consistent in sharing the good news of Jesus with others. The time is now. It's more urgent today than it's ever been.

I'll share more next time. Until then...

Stay blessed,

Pastor Cedric

Pastor, didn't Jesus tell His disiples to serve others? I believe that He meant to be a blessing to others. What an awesome Church Service we had this past Sunday! It is so wonderful to have anyone answer an Altar Call. That is what being a church is all about. Corporate prayer is important also. I plan to be there every Sunday that I am able @9:30 for corporate prayer.

Theresa,

You're right on. Please keep praying that we continue to be sensitive to the leading of the Lord. There has been something special happening since Mother's Day. God has truly been in our midst.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Cedric
