Finish strong to start strong

Here we are getting ready for 2008 and it seems like we just started 2007. Have you accomplished what you thought you would this year? A better question is have you been doing what is necessary to accomplish what you thought you would have accomplished by now?

I've just recently finished a series on "Believing God More Than Ever Before." The reason the series was so important was because "true" believers have action while "mere" believers just keep things in their mind. "Mere" believers are just really dreamers. "True" believers believe until they see what they say they believe.

While we're getting close to the beginning of a brand new year, wouldn't it be awesome if you had a head start on 2008. With less than 60 days left in 2007, wouldn't you like to use your time most effectively? Wouldn't you like to know that you gave your all? Wouldn't you like to finish the year knowing that you didn't leave any stone unturned?

2007 isn't up yet and God certainly isn't finished blessing you for 2007. Even if you've been blessed thus far in a massive way, don't sell God short. He very well might have more in store for you than you ever imagined.

We're like a runner in a race. No mater what place a good runner is in, they finish strong. They press through the tape because they want to know and they want others to know they gave their all. Listen, winning isn't everything but it ranks right up their with oxygen. Just like you want your next breath you should want to win.

Let me close with this. 2007 may or may not have been what you anticipated. Remember, God knows exactly where you are and what you've accomplished. Take the time we have left in 2007 and re-calibrate your spirit. Adjust your attitude. Get a fresh focus. Determine that you're going to finish strong. When you've made up your mind, then put a massive action plan together and pursue the things the Lord has put on your heart.

It's time to get up and go up. It's time to see the best the Lord has for you. It's time to know that God has good things in store for you. It's time to stop day dreaming. It's time to stop pretending. It's time to stop blaming God or anybody else. It's time to take responsibility for what you say you believe and believe that what you say (according the word of God) will come to pass.

2007 can end on a high note and 2008 can start with a big blast. The truth of this statement is up to you. "God knows the thoughts He thinks towards you, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Stay blessed and finish 2007 strong,

Pastor Cedric
